Airsoft game originally started in Japan in the 1970's, where gun ownership is very difficult or impossible to obtain because of tight regulations, then the lover of guns and looking for legal alternatives to their hobbies. And now the most popular airsoft events in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, South Korea, and also spread to the Philippines and Indonesia.

Airsoft game also became popular in North America and Europe, particularly in the U.S., Canada, UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Italy, Belgium (who visited the player from the Netherlands because airsoft illegal in their country), Denmark, and Chile, and the spread is supported by an active Internet community.
